ISD were commissioned by McKeown & Shields Architects to assist them with the internal refurbishment of the existing Tullyallen Parish Church on the outskirts of Dungannon County Tyrone.

The task was to provide an energy efficient lighting scheme, with low maintenance, minimizing glare which was a problem encountered with the existing lighting scheme whilst maintaining the original character of the Church.

By using a narrow beam Italian Manufactured architectural Luminaire we utilized the high level ceiling panels to beam pools of light to the ecclesiastically important features such as the Altar, Tabernacle and Ambo.

It also was important not to over illuminate the main body of the church as this may have overpowered the sanctuary area, we used bespoke elegant pendant fittings complimented with recessed downlighters to give flexibility as well as clear sight from the rear gallery area.

The refurbishment was completed in 2007.
